MEN CAUTIONED AGAINST MISHANDLING BREAST OF WIVES, SEXUAL PARTNERS.
The Chief Executive Officer of Breast Care International, Dr Mrs Beatrice Wiafe Addai, has cautioned men against mishandling the breast of their wives or sexual partners since it can lead to health challenges.
Dr Mrs Addai was speaking at a health talk programme organised by the Ashanti Regional Prison Ladies Association (PRILAS) in Kumasi, as part of activities marking the 10th anniversary of the formation of PRILAS in the region.
The anniversary had the theme: “Celebrating a proud past: empowering the female prison officer for excellence.”
In attendance at the programme were members of Ashanti PRILAS, Army Officers Wives, Police Ladies, Prison Officers Wives Association and Christian Mothers Association, Ghana.
The occasion was used to screen the breast of the women.
Dr Addai expressed unhappiness that some people reported to the hospital rather too late when there was no hope, after spending their time at prayer camps and herbal centres, only to rush to hospital when it was virtually difficult to salvage the situation.
The Ashanti Regional President of PRILAS, Assistant Director of Prisons, Mrs Joana Fofo Tackie-Otoo, called on members of PRILAS to take keen interest in issues relating to their health, since that was the only way to stay healthy to serve the nation.
She also appealed to Ghanaians to embrace peace as the nation goes to the polls on December 7, saying the attainment of peace was the responsibility of all stakeholders in the country.
Reforming prison inmates
Mrs Tackie-Otoo pledged the readiness of the Prison Service to help in reforming inmates so that they would come out as responsible persons after serving their jail terms.
A dietician at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital, Mrs Olivia Afihene Addison, said since eating a balanced diet was very crucial to attaining a healthy life, there was the need for all Ghanaians to adopt good eating habits to remain healthy at all times.
She said the notion that a balanced diet was very expensive was untrue, adding that one needed not to spend so much money before having a balanced diet, but rather plan to get a balanced diet.
