KOTOKO LEGEND OSEI KOFI WANTS CLUB TO MAINTAIN INTERIM COACH MICHAEL OSEI.
Asante Kotoko legend Osei Kofi wants interim coach Michael Osei to be handed the job on a permanent basis.
Osei took over from David Duncan and had a decent run by leading them to fifth position in the Ghana Premier League.
He has guided the team to the semi-finals of the GHALCA six tournament with two straight wins over Bechem United and All Stars.
But there are talks the new management team head by Dr Kwame Kyei are considering replacing him.
“A lot of good things is in Michael Osei as it will be laudable for him to be allow to stay with the club,” he told Kumasi-based Silver FM.
‘And so I want to state it on record that Dr. Kwame Kyei should not appoint any new head coach because doing so will not augur well for the club at the moment.”
” Better still, if he will insist of bringing in a new coach, then he should appoint someone with a higher pedigree in coaching than Michael Osei. This I think will serve as a perfect ground for Michael to continue harnessing his coaching talents.
”Michael Osei again knows the team very well and he is going to be of great help to whoever will be appointed as the coach and he will equip him with the right knowledge of the current squad. I like former players being coaches of clubs and so I think Michael Osei could be an ideal man for the coaching job.”
