JUMIA TRAVEL LAUNCHES HOLIDAY PACKAGES TO FOSTER UNIVERSAL ACCESIBILITY.

In line with this year’s World Tourism Day theme, “‘Tourism for all – promoting universal accessibility’, Jumia Travel, as a major stakeholder in the industry, is in the forefront in pushing for equal travel opportunities for all despite their financial or physical status. This, by launching holiday packages that will give travelers a chance to holiday at affordable costs.

Nairobi – 27th September, 2016: To celebrate the World Tourism Day, Africa’s leading online hotel booking company Jumia Travel, has announced the launch of its first holiday packages in Kenya and Nigeria. The packages consist of hotel stays, meals, transport, spa services depending on the particular hotels and a dedicated travel guide where applicable.

This initiative will focus on popular destinations such as Masai Mara, Naivasha, Tsavo and Amboseli in Kenya plus other leisure and romantically oriented destinations. According to Paul Midy, Jumia Travel’s CEO, “the move is part of the company’s initiative to promote domestic tourism in these countries, as we approach the peak season”. He added that “the packages will also go a long way in meeting this year’s World Tourism Day Theme; by making travel in Africa both accessible and affordable”.

Last minute plans will also be well catered for due to the flexibility offered by the packages; for instance, by either directly calling Jumia Travel’s Customer Service or by filling in a simple query form, the team will be able to organize for transport and/or accommodation at the same time, easing the hassle of travel and most importantly giving customers a memorable vacation experience.

Accessibility to travel destination is both a marketing tool for sector players, as well as a great contributor to the growing numbers of tourists and travelers. The packages will initially launch in Kenya and Nigeria, before spreading to other African countries. The company that now boasts the largest inventory of hotels in Africa plans to run the promotion on a yearly basis; while regularly updating the packages on the respective Jumia Travel’s country websites.
