Barbara spoke warmly of her late husband’s faith, and expressed hope that he was in a better place, away from the “many obstacles and temptations here on earth.” Barbara’s only regret was that, they did not get the opportunity to nurture a baby girl they would have christened Jessica. That was the mood at the forecourt of the State House in Accra Friday morning where hundreds of people, gathered to pay their last respects to the lynched Major Maxwell Adam Mahama. LATE MAJOR MAHAMA TO BE GIVEN STATE BURIAL. The late Major Maxwell Mahama who was lynched by some residents of the Denkyira-Oboase would be given a state burial. This was contained in a release containing the arrangements for the deceased issued by the state protocol department. The late Captain Maxwell Mahama The late Captain Maxwell Mahama, leader of the platoon detailed to a mining company at Denkyira-Obuasi, was about to be promoted to a ‘Major’ after he successfully sat his examinations a few weeks ago, Defence Minister Dominic Nitiwul has revealed. According to Mr. Nitiwul, the murdered officer was posted to the area about three weeks ago to relieve the Commander of the military personnel who were guarding a local mining company. President Akufo-Addo has assured that persons involved in the heinous murder of Captain Maxwell Adam Mahama will be arrested and prosecuted in accordance with the laws of the country. 21-YEAR-OLD MAN SLIPS AND DIES IN ABANDONED GALAMSEY PIT. A twenty-one-year-old man met his untimely death on Monday when he slipped and fell into an abandoned galamsey pit at Peminase near Bomfa in the Ejisu-Juaben Municipality in the Ashanti Region. The remains of Yaw Boakye, have since been deposited at the morgue of the Konongo-Odumase Government Hospital for autopsy. The assembly member for the area, Mr Owusu Asante Ahmed who is also a cousin to the deceased, told Graphic Online that Boakye and his colleagues were working at a construction site close to the pit on Monday.He said the deceased had joined other labourers at the construction site to wash themselves
