NIGERIAN BUSINESS WOMAN REMANDED FOR HUMAN TRAFFICKING. An Accra Circuit Court remanded a Nigerian businesswoman into police custody, for allegedly transporting four girls from Nigeria to Ghana, to engage them in prostitution. The suspect, Blessing Atia, who is being held on four counts of human trafficking, has pleaded not guilty. She supposedly collected the victims’ panties, pubic and armpit hair, and threatened them that if they refused to work for her, they would go mad. Atia, who is to reappear before court on September 18, also demanded GH¢4,00 each from the girls, claiming the amount was cost she incurred in transporting them to Ghana.
